Community Mental Health Residences

Upstate Cerebral Palsy offers residential placement to individuals requiring 24-hour supervision who are at least 18-years-old and diagnosed with a mental illness. The community residence is a teaching facility where individuals learn the skills needed to live in a less-restrictive setting.

Individuals learn to become proficient with key skills needed to begin living responsibly. Some areas addressed include medication management, symptom management, financial management, daily living skills, community integration, substance abuse, and health services.

Other mental health services offered by Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Herkimer County include supportive case management, the Image Center for recreation and social skill enhancement, Individualized Support Services, the medication grant program, and mentor programs.
